Say ‘hello’ to Kevin and Christina! I had the pleasure of photographing their engagement session last fall in Princeton, NJ. Originally we had planned to photograph their engagement session where they had first met at the Jersey Shore, but due to Hurricane Sandy we were unable to make the trip. We found a new spot – one of the stops along the Delaware & Raritan canal – and it was beautiful! Though not exactly what they had planned, at the end of the day we all knew that the canal was the perfect place: it was private, beautiful and serene – a perfect match for these two!
Normally I don’t share this part, but their proposal story is so adorable I just can’t help myself! (Kevin, a school teacher, is quite the romantic.) It was the end of the summer in 2012, and Kevin made plans for one more night at the shore for the season. After a candlelight dinner on a balcony overlooking the ocean (which of course featured her favorite food, king crab legs), Kevin asked Christina to take a midnight walk with him on the beach. Shortly after midnight Kevin couldn’t wait any longer, so he got down on one knee and asked Christina to spend the rest of her life with him. She of course said yes. I’d say that’s a pretty perfect end to the summer and start to a new journey together!
Kevin and Christina will be tying the knot this summer at the Crystal Point Yacht Club at the Jersey Shore, and I’m sure it will be beautiful! Congrats again, Christina and Kevin, on your engagement and upcoming nuptials. It was a blast spending the day with you both and I hope you love these photos as much as I do!
One cold, windy December day I met up with the lovely LeAnn and Jacob for their engagement session at Eagle Rock Reservation. These two have quite the history! It all started during their freshmen year at Columbia – they were talking within the first week of college and dating by the second month. Little did they know that, 6.5 years later, they would be getting ready to walk down the aisle!
Eagle Rock has this amazing view of the NYC skyline on one side and then hundreds of acres of trails on the other, making for a really neat experience and setting! Although the temperature was lower than we had hoped, we still had a great time together. I don’t even think the cold really bothered LeAnn or Jacob – they kept each other warm with their love (sorry, super corny – couldn’t resist!) Really though, these two were so adorable! A great couple, full of laughter, smiles and love.
Just a few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing LeAnn and Jacob’s wedding at The Grove in Cedar Grove. Stay tuned for their wedding day blog post in the next few weeks!
This lovely lady has graced your screen once before (check her out!), but this time I get to also present to you her adorable family! Everyone say ‘hello’ (again) to Amanda D of Diamonds & Details – a great wedding and event planner and overall fabulous person and mom. She reached out looking for new family portraits and photos for holiday cards, and I was so excited to get to work with her again!
We met on a beautiful November day at her parent’s house in Hillsborough, NJ. Everyone was super nice and welcoming (as expected), but her son stole the show right away – he just loved being the center of attention during our shoot! We did some great extended family shots too, which I totally love. It’s extra-heartwarming to see grandparents get involved in the photos, and makes them so much more special!
So thanks again D family! Amanda, it was a true pleasure getting to meet your family. I hope to see you all again this year!
(Oh, and check out the ADORABLE holiday card Cloudfish Studios made for them from my photos! Love it!)
Say hello to the R family! I was so happy when I was asked to photograph this beautiful trio. I had the pleasure of photographing mom, Tiffany, when she was pregnant last year with this little beauty (check out the blog!), and was beyond thrilled to photograph their new family photos this year! Little Sienna is just stunning – the minute I saw those eyes, I knew I was going to have a hard time putting my camera down.
We met in their gorgeous home in Rittenhouse Square for some light and airy indoor lifestyle shoots – my favorite! Sienna loved being in front of the camera, and was so full of smiles! We also ran around the park a bit for some fun, urban holiday outdoor shots. We had a great time! Who doesn’t love that little bit of magic that hangs in the air during the holiday season in the city?
Thank you again, R family, for having me photograph you guys! I hope you enjoyed our day together, and I look forward to seeing you all again this year!
And I can’t forget the ADORABLE holiday card CloudFish Designs put together from my photos! I’m so lucky to work with such an amazing designer!
Being a hop, skip and jump away from NYC definitely has it’s perks. I am constantly surrounded by creativity – talented actors, fashionistas, stylists and more – and I love it!
Hibba Kapil, one of those awesomely talented people, contacted me last fall to have some professional headshots done to promote her business, Hibba Beauty Studios. Hibba is very well known for signature hair-removal (threading, waxing, and sugaring), and her business was recently named Best NYC Brows in InStyle Magazine’s 2012 Black Book. (Congrats again, Hibba!) She’s totally amazing, and now I’m hooked on her services and can’t get my brows done by anyone else!
We met back in October near her Soho Studio for a little bit of that special Soho charm. NYC is great for unique locations and unexpected photographic environments, and this shoot was the perfect example! My favorite shots were taken under a scaffolding, which to the naked eye doesn’t seem like a great background, but the sharp lines of the structure made for some amazing shots!
Thanks again, Hibba – I had a great time spending the day with you in NYC! See you soon for some sugar!
And here’s an interior shot I took of Hibba’s Madison location.
Say ‘hello’ to the G family! I LOVED photographing this bunch because of two special characters: the adorable baby Miles and his sidepup, Dory! Miles was full of smiles and seemed to love being in front of the camera, all while his playful pooch was running around, trying to steal the show. I love when parents ask to have their dog included in the family portrait sessions – they are part of the family and have their own story to tell!
We met at their lovely home in Glen Ridge, NJ for some indoor lifestyle shots. Miles, being 6 months, was at one of my favorite baby stages – definitely still a baby, but old enough to be perfectly expressive. After shooting inside for awhile we headed over to Glen Ridge Train Station, a lovely little spot that provided some beautiful light and fall foliage. It was perfect!
Thanks again G family, for a fun day and great shoot. I hope to see you again this year!
2012 held a lot of firsts for BOP, but it also marked my third year photographing the colorful Miss Olivia! We met at Verona Park, one of my favorite parks for portraits in North Jersey, for this lovely lady’s shoot. This place is really great – there are so many different areas to shoot, it never gets old! I knew it’d be perfect to capture her charm.
Olivia turned up the cute factor right away and was picture-perfect in front of the camera. We really wanted to make her shine, especially since this little girl was about to become a big sister! Not too long ago they welcomed new baby Nicholas into the world. Stay tuned for those ADORABLE newborn shots, here on the blog, soon!
Continuing with my Fall Mini Sessions… Next up is the Utz family! These are a few of my favorite familiar faces. This fabulous foursome first graced your computer screen last year, when I featured their first Fall photo session with me on my blog!
Fast-forward a year and here we are again! We met at Merion Botanical Park and had a great time – how could you not when you’re surrounded but such handsome young gentlemen? (It’s nuts seeing how much older they look after just a year!) Of course it was also great to catch up with two of my favorite parents: mom Ronni, graphic designer extraordinaire and Design Director for Main Line Parent magazine, and her wonderful husband Jared.
So thanks again, Utz family, for spending time with me last year! It was great to see you all again. Hopefully I’ll see you all this Fall!
Last year’s Holiday Mini Sessions were a huge hit! I was thrilled to see many familiar faces, and even MORE excited to meet the new ones. I’ll be covering several of my mini sessions over the next few weeks, but I wanted to kick them off with the the K family!
My Philadelphia-area Fall mini sessions kicked off at Merion Botanical Park with this lovely bunch. I had met their oldest, Jace, at the Playtime Picnic photoshoot that Cloudfish Studios and I hosted with Main Line Parent awhile back. Since then, this adorable trio had become a foursome, thanks to the addition of new baby Jonathan! I love photographing this family – they’re always full of smiles and beautiful faces!
Thanks again K family for a lovely session! I look forward to seeing you all again this fall!
