There is no better way to finish off a truly incredible year than by having the privilege of photographing an amazing wedding in Las Vegas! (Vegas baby!)
I’ve known Nikki and Mike for a while so it was such an honor to capture their day. If you don’t remember them, this is the “go getter” assertive girl who won his attention by calling him out while he checked her out at a bar. She’s not exactly the subtle type – one of the many reasons I love her! Long story short – they ended up together and had one of the most action packed, fun-filled weddings I’ve experienced yet.
Bright and early on November 19th, all the guests loaded up on a classic tourist double-decker bus and headed over to the Guardian Angel Cathedral. It was a beautiful ceremony and the bride and groom were surrounded by all their close friends and family. Afterwards, we all re-boarded the bus and went on a scenic tour of the city! Did you know the Sahara was the 6th casino to open on the strip and closed in May 2011? It was the last remaining “Rat Pack” hotel-casino. (that’s one of the few tidbits I remember.) The tour ended at the famous Las Vegas sign, so of course we took advantage of the quintessential Vegas photo-op. Oh, and I can’t forget about Big Bird’s special appearance either. (Odd, I know. See photos below!)
Before we knew it, it was party time. Nikki and Mike held their reception at an awesome penthouse suite at Mandalay Bay - the perfect place to keep the party going for hours. How many brides can say they got to play beer pong with their husband on their wedding day?
You might have noticed one important part of Vegas missing so far… The King! No worries – Nikki and Mike surprised everyone and invited Elvis to stop by to sing their first song. Elvis even graced us with a few more hits before ‘leaving the building,’ including a special rendition of “Blue Suede Shoes” for Nikki since that was her footwear of choice for the day!
Needless to say that the was wedding was a BLAST! I consider myself very luck to have the opportunity to celebrate the joining of Nikki and Mike and meet all the people they hold near and dear to their heart. Thank you everyone for making this a truly memorable wedding, and congratulations again to the fabulous bride and groom! VIVA LAS VEGAS!
